Chip and Chirp: Week 4 at The Drew

The undefeated Buffalos are undefeated no more, and that might be the fourth-biggest story of the night. The Braveheart delivered a golden goal for the ages. A goalie sprinted the full length of the field to make a diving save on another goalie, a play already being called the play of the year, not even close. Three kids scored their first career goals. A set of twins joined the league on opposite teams, on the same night. A Bear played every minute in the cage so his team could have a game at all. And through it all, the league's biggest star stood on the sideline on a broken ankle, cheering for his boys. Every team, every game, a formal apology from the Chip and Chirp desk, and next week's Paylor Bowl on the horizon. All inside.

LeagueAugust 5, 2026Chip and Chirp: The Week 4 PreviewTonight has everything. At 6:30, before the regular slate even starts, the Bears and Eagles settle the first tie in league history with a sudden-death Braveheart faceoff: one draw, next goal wins. Then six games across three fields, headlined by the Clemmons Bowl, twin brothers meeting on opposite sidelines for the first time, while Noah Parker and Beckett Scoggins duel for the MVP lead from two different fields, separated by a single point. Chip has ironed his lucky shirt. Chirp discovered the league published a sortable stat board and has been awake since 4:40 AM. Full preview, all six matchups, and the numbers that made him gasp, all inside.
Game dayAugust 2, 2026Chip and Chirp: Week 3 at The DrewChip and Chirp needed two weeks off to recover, and The Drew repaid the wait with the wildest night of the season. The White Wolves howled their way to a first win, the Bears and Eagles played to the first tie in league history (to be settled next Wednesday, 6:30 PM, sudden death, bring chairs), a brand new Bears goalie made 21 saves, Wylie Paylor scored nine goals exactly as a certain co-columnist predicted in print, one coach benched the entire concept of goaltending, and Noah Parker blew a kiss that angered the ancient gods of lacrosse. Every team, every game, and the founding of the Matty Carter fan club, all inside.
LeagueJuly 29, 2026Chip and Chirp: The Week 3 PreviewEverything we were excited about got one week riper. The records still stand. The storylines still simmer. And tonight, Wednesday, July 29, we pick it all back up right where this whole thing started: Smith Turf Fields on Veasley Street, the same grounds that hosted opening night. Six games, three fields, every team plays twice.
