The full story

Born and raised in Greensboro and the son of a coach, Cole Abourjilie grew up around the game and graduated from Northwest Guilford High School in 2012, where he became one of the program's most decorated players. As a member of the 2011 state championship team, he earned all-conference, all-area, all-region, and all-state honors.

Cole finished with 270 career points at Northwest Guilford and was once North Carolina's all-time leading goal scorer. He also held the Northwest record for goals in a single game (8) — a mark that stood until it was broken by Sean Goldsmith.

A Team Carolina Elite and Old North State Lacrosse alum, Cole continued his playing career in college at both Salisbury University in Maryland and Lenoir-Rhyne. Today he stays close to the game as a dedicated lacrosse referee, officiating at the youth, high school, and college levels across the region.
